MANOS S.A. was established in 1934 and is the oldest producer and trader of edible vegetable oils. Since 2005 is located in Volos 2nd industrial area in its newly built facilities. The owned by the company field is of an area of 40.000 m2.
The cotton crop-oil production unit is of a 345tons/day capacity.
The refinery is build by ANDREOTTI IMPIANTI S.p.A that is one of the leading companies in the field of biodiesel and refinery plants. Capacity of the refined plant is of 200mt/day.
The ballast of plant consists of:
Steam generator facilities with 2 steam generators
Water treatment plant with 4 water softener units
Sewage treatment plant
One substation with a redundant transformer
Tank Farm
7 stainless steel tanks for final refined oil product with a capacity of 150m3 each
8 tanks for neutralized and crude oils with a capacity of 225m3 each
4 tanks for neutralized and crude oils with a capacity of 211m3 each
9 tanks for neutralized and crude oils with a capacity of 145m3 each
3 tanks for neutralized and crude oils with a capacity of 125m3 each
Also the tank farm consists of auxiliary tanks at various small capacities at a range between 20-50m3
The new biodiesel plant is also located in the 2nd Industrial Area of Volos attached to the MANOS existing facilities. The area is owned by MANOS S.A. and is 6.101 m2.
This new project is 40% financed by the Greek Government under a new investment plan for renewable energy sources.
The main unit is designed and supplied by ANDREOTTI IMPIANTI S.p.A. that is one of the leading companies in the field of biodiesel and refinery plants.
The method of production is a continues trans-esterification with glycerine depuration. Production capability is of 250tons/day for BIODIESEL according specifications according to EN 14214 and glycerin 25 tons/day. The new plant also consists of a tank farm with the following specifications:
6 tanks for crude oils with a capacity of 500m3 each
2 tanks for methanol with a capacity of 100m3 each
1 tank for sodium-methylate with a capacity of 100m3
4 tanks for final bio-diesel product with a capacity of 250m3 each
2 tanks for final glycerin product with a capacity of 250m3 each
1 track-loading station for final products
1 track loading station for crude oils and row materials
